Possible help needed... arcade monitor
« on: June 03, 2008, 06:19:39 pm »
I might be able to get this off ebay and use it for my new driving cab...
would mean that I'm restoring a project vs MAMEing it.

SHOTEN THOSE LINKS< DOGGONE IT!

Worth getting?  How easy is something like this to fix?
Is going into a Special Criminal Investigation cab, the car is
red, so I need to have red working.

Thanks for any help

thats a real old monitor, the red not working could be something as easy as a broken pot/bad solder joint or a drive transitor.on the other hand being so old it could be a tube gun dead-and that you ain't gonna fix

If you could pick that up (and not have to ship it) and get it for *CHEAP* (I mean under five bucks) then do it just to get some experience under your belt.

Note that it's a Sanyo EZ which requires a 100 volt isolation transformer, not a regular 110V one.

yup... did the same thing at an auction with a crt that was missing green.  Came with an entire dynamo cabinet for $25.

Ended up being the crt gun which was dead.  I tried to rejuvinate but she was too far gone.  I ended up buying a new monitor.

Thanks, I'm more tempted now to get it, esp since I should be able
to pick it up close.

Here's another one the same guy has on sale, but there's
already a bid on it.  Wonder which one is better to get?
