No Video on a Space Invaders cocktail cabinet
« on: May 26, 2008, 04:29:02 pm »
Hi all :)
I just picked up a Space Invaders cabinet. The PCB was stated as working, and when I plug on the cabinet, I have nothing on screen. When I insert coin, play etc, I have all sounds etc, so it seems that the PCB is perfectly working but not the video.
Strange point, I have the orange light on back of the monitor, so I am pretty pissed off and don't know where start the quest..

On all my cabs I never had a real monitor issue, when the monitor was broken I never fixed it and changed it. But since this is a BW monitor and the original, with light, I am thinking if the problem is maybe other than this..
All coments much appreciated..
Thanks

the filaments are likely NOT scan derived on this chassis. ( bettin' 12v fils on this crt)
so, would suggest pulling the pcb and resoldering all the interconnectors along the edge of the board.
and for that matter , anything thing else that looks questionable  ;)
check the 'lytic caps and to-3 xistors  .

hi
thanks for the response.
'lytic caps and to-3 xistors
What does it mean? Sorry I'm not an electronic expert.

I'll try to change the interconnectors first, to se if something appears..
thanks

He's talking about electrolytic capacitors and transistors.
