How to Pretty up the cabinet?
« on: May 26, 2008, 12:09:40 am »
My first plans for my MAME machine, was to cover the whole thing in black laminate, then print up a sticker if I felt it necessary. However after looking at some images and a quick stop by a local arcade.. im thinking that might not look quite right. Judging from the pictures and what I could see at the local arcade, not many others use this method. They do however have a nice black smooth look that i'd like to accomplish. What are some of the ways you go about pretty'ing up the wood ? Black laminate im not so sold on now, and I know spray paint wont quite look right.

Ty for any suggestions.

What's wrong with black laminate? There are a million different black colors. Maybe you haven't found the right one?

Possibly. The one sheet I seen in Home depot was fairly thick and felt like plastic. Im kind of in the dark when it comes to things like this, which is whats making this mame machine so hard. Im trying to find a place in town that may have a better variety. Maybe a vinyl sticker is what im looking for ? Just what I felt on the machines in the arcade feels softer, and wasnt really as shiny as the laminate looked.
