Sneak Preview of my Mini Cab
« on: May 31, 2003, 12:49:48 pm »
Ok these might not be the best pictures but ill post anyways. This is a 4 ft high single player cab for my kids. It has a 13 inch monitor and a basic 900 mhz puter in it. T molding hasnt been applied nor had the marquee from Emdkay ( one pictured was printed on my ink jet)
Ill post better pics when project is "complete"

Lemme me know what u folks think :

If I built a cab like this I would be worried about:

A: Playing it more than my kids

B: Children playing it!

Nice. I wish my parents built me an arcade cab when I was a kid.  ;)

I just let my daughter play on mine...lot of money spent on a cab that they will outgrow...almost as bad as clothes...hehe

but I really like the look of the cab, the natural wood looks nice...not something I'm fond of, but you could make a beleiver out of me.

I feel the need to rail on you for making those pictures > 1MB bitmaps.   ;)

But...very nice looking cabinet.  With that finish, it'll look good in any room!

Actually if ya pull up a chair its actually playable for an adult :)
At this point we fight for time on the machine. The color coordination had to come from the wife, since we plan on keeping this in our living room.

Cleaner pics should be up soon

This is a bad stage....cab is actually playable so the detailes are getting put aside :)

My cabinet is only 5 ft. tall.  It's perfect size for an adult to sit at (it is my full-time computer as well for internet, word processing, etc.), and the monitor is at the perfect height.  It's also nice for the nephews who love to play it as well.  I would like to build a full sized one when I get a little more room, and I'll use my 25" TV for that one.  Sitting at an arcade machine (though much more comfortable) just doesn't have the same "feel" that standing at one does.
