Monitor won't power on anymore - Update - replaced fuse, now it works!

Very strange. I did nothing and now the monitor won't power on any more. I've checked the connections. the PS lights up the coin door and marquee. Do you think the monitor died or is it the PS?

do you have a multimeter,if not get one.

I do have one, although i've never used it - don't know how. I have a a red and black cable that came with it and  the meter has 10adc, com, and vma. How do I use it?

look at your multimeter and you will see ac/dc volts-com-ac/dc amps sockets
put the red probe to ac/dc volts and the black probe to com socket
set the multimeter dial to 200v(or whatever is close) then push the red probe into the white wire on the monitor power plug and the black wire to the other monitor power plug wire
if you get 120v then the monitor has maybe shat out,if you get nothing then a fuse has blown
lets take it from there

If you mean test from the power supply, then I get nothing. I've tested it out on one of my computer power supplies and I get readings of 12v and 5v so I know I'm doing it correctly. So you say I've blow a fuse? Do I just replace the PS?

you need to read the input voltage to the power supply first(guessing you are american)you should have 120v ac,if you have 120v ac input and no dc volt output then the power supply is dead

There are two series of cables coming out of my ps. One is for the monitor (white, green, black). The other goes to the jamma it looks like. It's a series of 8 wires. The coin door works, marquess, etc. I've tested that one and it works. The monitor doesn't give me any reading. The PS works to some extent.

o.k quick easy diagnosis,turn the a1(screen volts) up(clockwise) on the flyback transformer,if you get a white screen then your monitor is almost certainly o.k.
if you get nothing then your power supply is shot.
i use this diagnosis all the the time and i have been in the arcade industry since 1986,so i know my stuff

I did as you said and I got nothing from the monitor. I may be doing something wrong. Just for kicks, I went to test out another ps from a different machine. The monitor output came up nothing, but everything works fine.

This isn't worth the hassle. I'm going to Happ Controls tomorrow and getting a new monitor.

before you get a monitor just check the white and black wire on the monitor power plug with the multimeter set to ac volts,you should get 110-120vac

It came up 122. So the ps is working. I guess the monitor took a dump on me. Thanks for your help.

yes your chassis has shat out,dunno what those bits on the yoke are but i doubt they are anything important

Dudes! I went to Radio Snack and replaced the fuse. It works!

Just remember that the fuse blew for a reason.  Keep an eye on it.

the tabs are simply mounting guides for winding the coil.  it looks like a zenith yoke   
so, should it have a 95 - xxxx part number on it.....   just dumb things to know -

Doesn't a blown fuse turn black? This was still clear. That thin wire in the fuse wasn't straight - it was zig-zagged.
