I just manually compiled Mame125 with MkChamp's hiscore diff (Thanks MKChamp!) and installed the latest roms - no hiccups on anything, and DK does sound better!

You guys had me worried to the point that I created a whole new directory, instead of my usual just copy over the top method. I guess I can keep running the ole Athlon processor a bit longer...

No problemo ;-)
Maybe I missed it, but what made you so scared of 125?

I was about to post the same thing.  I don't know what they did, but .125 is running Donkey Kong and MK perfectly fine.  With .124 the audio stutter was driving me insane.

Just with all the posts lately complaining of speed issues, I was wondering if it is finally time to upgrade my hardware. Fortunately, not yet. Someday I'll make the switch to 64 bit and duo or quad core, but that's not necessary for me - perhaps when you can finally play all the chd's...

I found .124.2 or 3 DK was actually playable - but only with my 2.8ghz P4. I'll have to check .125 out.
