Windows/Mame Config Joysticks
« on: May 05, 2008, 11:30:34 pm »
I have my cab all set up with one problem.  When I play any game in mame, the 1 player joystick will only walk for a few seconds then stop.  How do I fix this?   ???  I am using an I-pac and windows XP.  I played with the key repeat in system setting and that didn't seem to help.

Where does it walk to?

Any Ideas?  I like to play Street Fighter style games and it sucks when I walk left or right and have to keep tapping the joystick to move.

The only time I know this happens is when your encoder is PS2 and you use one of those PS2 to USB cable converters.  Due to issues between the two, the cable adapter has to clear the buffer every 5 or 6 key strokes/seconds.  As long as you use the PS2 to USB cable from Ultimarc you should be ok.

Thats it. Is there any way to just make one of those cables?  Does anyone have a wiring diagram? Thank you

I believe you need to get the IPAC USB cable directly from Andy at Ultimarc.  Using a regular PS2 to USB cable won't work.
