anyone else having issues with shareaza?
« on: April 29, 2008, 05:39:22 pm »
So, Ive been using shareaza for a long time now, its great for torrents.

until this morning that is, my download status shows 'pending'

and if I goto the connections settings, it says im not connected  :badmood:

I tried different conenction settings, no go, didnt help

so, anyone else having this problem?

if not, anyone got any good alternatives to shareaza?

cheers

I use Utorrent for bittorrents and shareaza for eDonkey and Gnutella.

perform a Connection test. Firewall settings could have changed.

I have Kaspersky AV, I disabled the firewall, then tried the shareaza app, didnt help.

So to me, does not appear to be a firewall issue, I think I'll use a diff program  :-\

I assume you mean you disabled the routers firewall.
(the connection test should tell you if it is having firewall issues).
Look under Help Connection Test

Also you may want to try and change the port used
Tools-Shareaza settings-Internet-Connection

Your ISP probably have blocked all your P2P ports.

Its not a good sign.

You might get a knock on the door from the Feds.

Nuke your hard drives.

um, I dont think so  ;D

I tried utorrent & Azureus, they worked fine

then I installed shareaza 2.3.1, tested my connection, said it was firewalled, the old version never said that

I disabled the firewall, then turned it back on while the program was active, soo far soo good

I used to use Azureus, but it was always crashing on me, so I switched to Bit Torrent

Rule of thumb for Azureus, decline their updates. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I allowed their updates once and the prog never worked again on that PC.
