Where did my fonts go?
« on: April 24, 2008, 07:50:34 pm »
I happened upon the 1001 fonts link in a thread somewhere around here a bit ago, but I have a question anyways. Last year I did an XP full re-install. I later was working on a Word project and noticed the assload of fonts I used to have weren't there. I never changed anything or added anything to Windows since I originally started the machine, so I'm wondering why they're not there, or where they went, or whatever. Does anyone know something on this?

A full install typically reformats the HD, thus nuking all of your fonts...

Also, do you have a link for the 1001 fonts? I wouldnt mind adding a few to my system.

That was obvious. I'm thinking there was some automatic update some time after I started it up that gave me the extra fonts. I seem to recall at one point just having more. Anyways, it's just 1001fonts.com .
