Which are correct ? because my cab has a MAX of 22'' width on the inside which currently has a 19'' lcd, I'm thinking about going with a crt, I found this makvision monitor which is aparently 24.8'' but the width is different on two different web sites happ lists the width at 23'' and niemandisplays lists it as 21.4'' are these the same monitor ? also id like to use it for MAME so i would like to hook it up via vga, and a regular power plug no clue really about that stuff. Is there such a frame that i would be able to get that wouldnt exced 22'' ??

Our Drawings are taken directly from the Cad Drawings for the metal parts, the tube spec from Samsung indicates largest horizontal dimension to be 522mm +/- 3 mm. So at 525 mm you are looking at 20.66 inches.

The original dimension for the old 25" which is not available was 23", my guess is typical of Makvision ... old drawings??

We build the product so don't ever hesitate to ask any questions.., when you call you will likely talk to me. I take all calls unless I am not in the office and I personaly test evert monitor.

Good Luck

So your saying it will fit then ? that's good news.. can this be hooked up to a pc via vga cable... also i'm not that tech savy is there any way i can just plug it in like a crt tv to a standard 110v socket? Also this is going to literally run to the rail of my cab, do you sell a plastic bezel for it if so does it still fall under 22'' wide ?

Comes with a 15 pin sub-d connector (VGA). the power cord is a 3 prong AC connector, ready to plug in. I am taking it you are planning to run at 640X480?? Is this right?

Hope this helps.

I'm not sure about what resolution i would stick with, Would i also need to purchase arcadevga from ultimarc ? i think currently my lcd is set to 1280x, I was also thinking about the burn-in issues, so although i enjoy mr. do's artwork files I think I would remove them with the crt

The highest this monitor will run (or the makvision) is 640X480 (normal VGA). I would not bother buying the Arcade VGA, I would just set the PC to 640X480.

If you cahnge back and forth to standard, mid and VGA adjsutments will be required each time.

So I must have missed it, your ditching your LCD why?

clean, I'd look at the wiki a bunch. Then take break. Then look at it again.

So OK, here is what I have found....

I have an original old 25" Wells monitor with the curved tube that is no longer available... the tube is 22 &5/8" wide and the brackets are 23" wide.

I also have a set of the brackets Makvision Used on their 25" using the same tube, they are 22.5" wide.

I measured our brackets to be 21 & 3/8" if the tube is mounted offset left or right of the brackets the total dimension could be as much as 21.5".

My guess is that bothe Wells and Happ/makvision have not updated their sites.... I guess similar to their support out of date??

By the way if anyone finds any error on our site please... please let me know, we will correct it. email me Rick@niemandisplays.com

thanks again and good luck

Should work at those dimensions here is a pic attached to show you what kinda room i have... its sooo tight but i want a 25'' aka 24.8''  .. at 21.5, I'm not even so sure what type of bezel I would be able to utilize, I would without a doubt need to create a custom one, I have a shelf that i can lower / raise so that should do a good job hiding the top and bottom of the monitor my main concern is still squeezing in as well as custom bezel / frame foam, plastic ? cardboard? Also this is a curved tube right not a flat tube.. id actually prefer a curved crt

It is a flat Picture tube, this can actualy make your bezel issue a little easier. Use a piece of Plexiglass, it can be placed tight to the tube, areas outside the picture area can be painted black from the back, or use a large sheet of black bristle board, cut out the area of the picture (think of a donut and the square picture area is the hole) secure it to the back of the plexi.
