Kaillera?
So a leper walks into a bar and as he gets his beer, a finger falls off. The bartender who is serving him turns and pukes all over the place. The leper, feeling bad, says, "Was it my finger falling off?" The bartender turns to him and says, "No, it's the guy dipping chips into your back."

Not in any way supported by the developers of MAME.  In addition, lag time would make some things near impossible to play.
Donkey Kong High Scores:
1): 49,500
2): 35,600
3): 30,100
4): 29,400
5): 28,200

This is probably THE saddest thread I've ever read here  :'(

Yes you can, But if you talk about it on this forum everyone acts like you're a witch.

No the lag doesn't make it unplayable, in fact very frame reliant fighters like Street Fighter 2 are very playable, You need to look around for p2p kaillera.

You can absolutely play MAME online.  And the lag is only an issue in some games.  What are you looking to play online?

Can I take that to mean that a forum tournament would be out of the question?  My cab won't be done for about a month, but when it is, I was hoping to set up a tournament based on a game that people vote for here (most likely a fighter, but it could be Pang!, Tetris, or whatever).  Really, I'm just interested in playing with people from the forums and thought it'd be a fun way to get to know people.  Is it really scoffed at?

I don't think that this is a fair representation -- the reason that discussions about Kailleira seem one-sided is that saint wants this place to be MAME-friendly and honour MAMEDev's wishes with repect to licensing and derivative issues. The MAMEDevs have an issue with Kailleira. So, you won't find a lot of people posting support for Kailleira here..

I don't agree with everything the MAMEDev's say or do, but I do respect saint's wishes for this place.

In that case I'll just suggest that you use Final Burn Alpha or Kawaks for your emulator since they're not associated with the MAMEdevs and actually work better through Kaillera than MAME

check out http://kaillera.movsq.net here you can get the p2p kaillera client and a really good version of Final Burn Alpha thats optimized for playing online.

I play Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo through p2p all the time, and its great.  Still not as awesome as playing on the board, but good practice
