MAME32 and screen rotation
« on: April 14, 2008, 05:16:01 pm »
Question:

Okay.  I've got MAME32.  And I'm running a cocktail cabinet.  I've got a "street fighter 2 player setup" going along one of the long sides of the cabinet (for horizontal games)...on one of the ends of the cabinet, I've got a 4/8 way joy w/ 3 buttons (for vertical games like Donkey Kong, Galaga, Pac Man, etc).  And on the opposite end, I've got a trackball and buttons for vertical trackball games.

I have vertical joystick games set to rotate 90 degrees clockwise, so that they can be played vertically.  And they look great.

I have horizontal games set to play with a normal orientation, so that's all well and good.

But I'm running into problems when I try to rotate a game 90 degrees counter-clockwise, to play at the proper orientation at the trackball end.

Any idears?

You can also rotate games on the fly while playing them in MAME.  So if you are playing centipede, for example, you can hit tab, video options, rotate.  However, you have to be using a version of mame with the new video options. I believe .107 or higher.
