Control Panel Feedback and issue!
« on: April 13, 2008, 09:42:09 am »
Ok, here is my CP. Title of the project is Aracde Duel following a Space Duel theme.

I have an issue as you may be able to spot. Player 1 stroke is set to outside, which is what I want, however I poduce some text, create outlines, set stroke and set position. This is fine with no issues.

As soon as I save it and reopen it BAM the stroke changes to the inside! Now, I can't change it back to outside stroke, when I click on the outside stroke nothing happens. It only happens when text is on the right side of the CP, left side stays fine! You can see the coin and start are the same on the right side too! Can anyone help?

I am using Illustartor CS2.

Illustrator has so many funny little "quirks". I use to design tons of stuff in illustrator, and have a couple options.

Make sure you are using a new layer ( If you try to put it on the layer you may get your effect doubled).

Delete the "player 2" text and copy paste the "player 1" text in its place, and rename it ( I don't know why this works, but I always seem to have to do that)

Move your text layers to the top ( you may have an overlay layer over the top)

Make sure that you have disabled all affects on the text layers.

try these  and let me know :-) I'll think of more if that doesn't work. And above all, good idea! This is going to be an awesome panel. Remember to post pics!

WELL THANKS VERY MUCH! ;D

I can't wait to get building! I have mainly red buttons but I have black buttons for the admin controls with vinyl overlays. I will also mount a power button below the monitor on the bezel again with vinyl overlay.

I'll try what you said as soon as I get home.

OK tried what you said and it didn't work. I moved all the text layers to the top, nothing. I copied and pasted the text on right to the left, worked until I saved it, then same thing. I used the text tool to create new text, then created it as an outline, put the stoke and effects on and positioned it, same thing.  :banghead:

What is really strange is when I type the X and Y position of where I want the text to go (in top right hand corner), it changes to the inside stroke. If I manually position the text, it is fine, until I save it!

Anyone else experience this problem?  :dizzy:

Just bumping this to get feedback.

In the process of finishing the Marquee (75%) and Sideart (50%). Speaker Plate and Kick Plate is also nearly completed (90%) so art should be up soon.

If I were you, I wouldn't use the stroke on the outlined text.

I would do an offset path and send it to the back and then change the color.

I dont know why exactly this is happening but I see an inside and outside stroke. Did you check to see that on the other text you didn't check both boxes?
