NFL Blitz 99 Restoration
« on: April 04, 2008, 11:35:04 pm »
I decided to go to the auction with the sole purpose of buying a cab with a decent monitor to make a Multi JAMMA unit. What I mean by that is a 2 player cab that I could modify the control panel a lil bit and buy game boards for what I like. Wouldn't you know it someone brought a clean looking NFL Blitz 2000 Gold Edition game! I fell in love immediatly and didn't want to get into a major bidding war for it. So I found the guy selling the machine and offered $500.00 USD. Needless to say he took it out of the auction. Since I already have a machine coming that runs NFL Blitz 2000 / NBA SHowtime On NBC I decided to hunt down a NFL Blitz 99 board I found one and installed it. I got a NOS CPO from a local vendor and found a NOS marquee on E-Bay (imagine that me on E-Bay as much as I hate it). I'll have more pics later. Only thing I have left to do is get a medium res monitor, atm I have a low res monitor (boy I have been spoiled by Mame on a LCD) I also want to get some sideart for the machine like I saw on KLOV. I got a post up in the artwork section but no one has contacted me.  :( I started by putting Electric Ice buttons in it with RGB modules. To get the appropriate colors and the buttons to light up I installed a "Y" connector at the hard drive and made a wiring harness and hardwired the buttons to the correct colors. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Never would have thought of putting lighted buttons on a dedicated cabinet.

Looks great though.

I would suggest e-mailing Scott at www.mamemarquees.com and seeing what he can do for you.

Put "BYOAC" in the title of the email and he will bump you up a little more to the top of the list.

Remember, he also does the mamemarquee thing on the nights and weekends.  So don't come down too hard on the guy, you never know what is going on with someones life.

Just my 2 cents.

How long ago did you email him?

I think I am gonna forget trying to get artwork done. No one wants to make money it seems so I'll leave the cab as is for now untill a hungry new jack pops up. Thanx tho

The marquee came today. I'll post pics sometime tomorrow. Thanx for all the feedback guys   My next project will be making this cab pull double duty as a Mamecab and a JAMMA cab. I am still trying to teach myself the ins & outs of JAMMA so this will be interesting.
