My Summer project
« on: March 30, 2008, 08:35:47 pm »
I usually don't post my projects, but I thought I would with this one.  I picked up this Robotron empty cab for $50 today.  It is pretty solid with all the back doors.  My initial thoughts is to restore as much as possible and Mame it.  I want to put a rotating LCD monitor in it and stencil the sides back to origial Robotron artwork.  So does anyone have any links to stencils or to a motorized rotating monitor set-up?  I will post work pics, but it will be slow.  I want to take my time on this one...

Thanks,
Southpaw

What about a Robotron 64 theme???

Rotating monitors? Motors? Absolutely. Impossible! You just can't do that. Never!

...?

I thought I saw a project where the montor rotates with a motor, hits a relay and stops.  I would think this would be easier now with lighter LCD screens.  I currently have a rotating CRT screen than you have do by hand.  I was thinking that I could use something like a lazy susan type setup with a motored wheel to move the LCD.  Or better yet.....Read all of your other posts!!!!

Ha.  Psychotech bumped the necessary threads.  Follow the link, grab some snacks, and get ready to do a lot of reading.  There's a bunch of us on the boards all playing follow the leader to rotational bliss.
