holesaw powerdrill question
« on: March 30, 2008, 02:43:21 am »
I bought holesaws but the arbor does not fit my powerdrill

My power drill chuck is maxed at 3/8 inch

can some1 link me to a holesaw ( 1 1/8inch)
that will fit my powerdrill?

I look around but I am not sure about its size, I dont want to spend money buying the wrong ones again.

thx

Most holesaws use an arbor that will only fit a drill with a 1/2-inch chuck. Milwaukee sells an arbor that will fit a 3/8-inch chuck. IIRC, it only works with their smaller hole saws, though. If I were you, I'd try searching with Google or Amazon to find what you need.

In my case, I ended up buying a corded drill with a 1/2-inch chuck so I didn't have to worry about which arbor I was using...

Harbor freight has an el-cheapo hole saw kit that fits a 3/8 chuck. You are much better off using a spade bit, or a forstner bit though on CP holes. Both can be had relatively cheap at any hardware store.

Noobofthecentury... save yourself a headache and buy yourself a 1 1/8" forstner bit... it's super clean and super accurate.  I found mine at OSH... Home Depot and Lowe's looking at me like I was speaking Russian.  Try real hardware stores for these.

Here's some general info about them:

They fit any standard drill.

I'm only using a 3" hole saw for my trackball.
