I'm pretty new to the whole pinball Mame thing and I've been trying to figure it all about, eventually to work with Mala.  I'm still figuring out the difference between Visual Pinball and VPinmame and all that, but with either, I can only seem to get only the scoreboard working with VPinmame and only the table working in Visual Pinball... even then it's weird, I seem to be following the instructions, but when it opens, it defaults to the table editor, then I have to load the table from in there... nothing (yet) with a simple command line where it would all work in Mala.

All that aside, does anyone know if it's possible to run both the scoreboard AND table in one screen...?  I'd love to add these to my cabinet that I'm building.

Thanks for any input!

See the screenshots below:

Note that I'm using closemul to close vp when its finished.  Also you can't see all the command line in the screenshot so here it is:

vpinball.exe -play -"%path%\%rom%.%ext%"

I'm using the default settings for closemul so nothing has to be set for that.

I went through all this a while back as well and eventually gave up. I was tring to use Howard C's wrapper but I think something to do with the version of TinyXP I was using didn't like it. So SGT you don't any sort of wrapper to launch this from Mala. Does it focus ok straight onto the table or the editor? Sorry to sort of get off topic but these answers may also help these onther guys.

Cheers,

Simon.

I only know of one FE that has this licked with a single pathway set.

As you can see above, I use the closemul wrapper so that VP will close properly.  I do not have any focus problems with it.  When I tried Howard's wrapper, I did have focus problems.

I still get the two splash screens which is not great, but I haven't found anything to suppress them properly.

Licked in what way? A single pathway set?  What do you mean by that.  I can run it from Mala with:

vpinball.exe -play -"%path%\%rom%.%ext%"

Note the dash before the path variable.

SGT, thanks for your help with my thing.  I'm now having a Visual Pinball issue but at least I can access the tables from Mala, they're just not loading, something to do with Active X and some say I need to update, which I'm going to try.

I mean a simple browse and select. All done.

Hi, I tried this and actually made some progress!  I am still having focus issues unless I have VP run in a window using the VP, Table, Video settings. This is fine but the resoltion I normally use isn't there so the table doesn't look as smooth. When I exit though it takes me back to my menu! Thanks SGT.
