« on: March 23, 2008, 09:40:07 am »
As topic states:  can a med res monitor be used to display a standard res game?

Thanks.

some monitors are dual sync, depends on your model number though
if its fixed med res then you would need some kind of converter and from what i have seen med res output converters are very pricey

sega naomi standard monitors are sanwa 29es31 and nanao 2932 which are both high res 31khz
sega astro city have nanao ms8 variations 15/25khz
sega new astro city have nanao ms9 15/25khz
sometimes found in naomi cabs are multisync nanao ms2931
you can see from this small choice the different type of monitors that can found

if it is a sega naomi cab that is running a naomi mobo setup of any kind then it can only be a 31khz or 15khz monitor as naomi does not support 25khz

if you find the game that is installed in the cab then you id the frequency

Cool thanks.  Do you have a link to an example converter that would work good to play stand res jamma games in that cab?
