I can use the digital keys to move the crosshairs around and the A-button to shoot but I would really like to use my lightgun to play this game.  Is there a way to inform NullDC to use the mouse to control the crosshairs somehow?

Why not just use the PC version of the game?  It tracks your mouse and thus is perfect for the Lightgun use...

I'm not looking at it right now, but I'm not sure if nulldc is that far along yet..

The PC version is way better anyway..... The DC version includes wonderful green blood instead of the red variety and runs slower that the original arcade version, even on a real DC.

On top of that, you can get all of the first three HOTD games on the PC and HOTD4 is due out soon.
