Need help getting JPAC/Arcade Monitor working again!
« on: March 22, 2008, 03:54:27 pm »
Hey guys... I recently had to disassemble and reassemble an arcade machine to move it, and, beforehand, the JPAC allowed BIOS to show on the startup screen (albeit that it was garbled and rolling, but it showed up!)...

After the move, i've plugged everything back in, the marquee lights fine, the screen comes on but stays totally black (I see it go off when I switch it off), and the JPAC Signal and Sync lights still come on, but, nothing ever shows up on the screen...

When I plugged it back in, I pretty much just matched connectors and colored wires, as well as some cable-length logic to make sure everything was plugged back in, but, I did have one black cord with red and a blue U clips at the end of it, that I was unsure of where to plug.

So, if anyone out there knows the inside of a JAMMA arcade cabinet and has seen similar symptoms, please pitch in and help me out.  I'd love to get some MAME on this thing :)

Thanks!

Yes, when I turn it off, I see it do the traditional old TV being turned off White box closing down to a line and then disappearing... which, I love, btw :)... actually it seems kinda green...  ???

So yeah I'm sure the monitor has power... I jusst can't seem to get it to show anything through this JPAC.

Through dangerous trial and error, I have managed to get it to display again...

It's not perfect, but when I output an 800x600 resolution from my GeForce 5700 le, interlaced, via powerstrip, I can see a windows-like display on the screen...

I think now it's a matter of tweaking, and getting the darn thing to understand that I want to be able to do this from my DVI port (it doesn't recognize the arcade screen as a second monitor.
