whats best multi front end

whats best front end for mame that when boot up hides post/windows screen, or runs a fmv  while booting,with speech,and allows to  choose betwen daphnie,  mame and m2, i saw one with moving intro pictures to each game shot looked good.
i know theres a pay one, is that worth getting or is the free ones better, alsoi going to use arcadevga on tv so one thats easy for kids t set up , input appreciated

Maximus Arcade is a damn good front end, but it is not free.  Well worth the price though.  If you are looking for something that is easy for kids... MA is your answer.  I tried several of the free ones, but somehow my configs all kept getting messed up within a hour or two with the kids playing.  MA has never been screwed up un-intentionally.

Yeah, how is it messing up?  I use MA and CPWizard without any issues.

regarding the wiki and all the listings- it doesn't state what front end has automatic boot (to avoid windows)

Can I assume they all do, and it's just a matter of finding some type of script to launch this?


oh, and headkaze, nice avitar. Prodigy is one of the best! Too bad they were only popular for a little while in the states!
Their whole discography ranges in so many different styles (dirtchamber and music for the jilted are my fav). amazing!

All Front end have "automatic" boot, because it is not a feature of the Front End, it is just a configuration of windows.

Just put your FE in the Start up folder, it will start at boot.

You can also replace the windows shell by the FE , but it will require registry change (or the use of a utility that does that for you).
