just been offerd a cab , but the monitor(brand unknown at this time) picture is faded, is this fixable or does it need replaced?

You have provided nearly zero information. Does faded mean a dim picture? Or just blurry and out of focus?
Until we know what kind of monitor you've got, and possibly a better description, we can't help very much.

Could even be something as simple as very dirty monitor glass.
But yes, make and model of monitor in question.

will put more onfo on monitor when i get it, its prob a polo 20" and the picture is faded like lots of white with a makable image on it, i think
