Help! 29" Sharp Image Monitor Acts Dead!
« on: March 18, 2008, 03:25:55 pm »
Well my 29" Sharp Image crt monitor went black right in the middle of pacman :hissy:.   I tried all the usual stuff (hooked up a different monitor  and it worked fine. ) Windows acts like it is there, when I hook up two monitors(the sharp image and, an lcd) windows "sees" 2 monitors.    I tried changing the rez and so forth but the  screen stays black, It is black during boot-up also.  Is it worth fixing?  Is there anything else I can try?  Finding someone to work on Crt's these days is harder than finding an encyclopedia salesman.  (indianapolis area)  Is it time to move on and say goodbye?

do you feel static on the tube?
does the screen flash when you turn the power off?
can you see an orange glow from the neck?
have you turned up the screen volts to see if you get any type of picture?

Look in the telephone directory Yellow Pages under the heading of "Amusement Devices" for a distributor or game operator. Many will have a service department where you can take your monitor to get repaired.
