IMO, there isn't a frontend that is the greatest, they all have their + and - points...

give the following FE's a try and see which one you like best:
Lazarus
MameWAH
Gamelauncher
ArcadeFX

i've only really used Gamelauncher and Mamewah (which i currently use)
i had a go with lazarus, but as i have a short attention span, i lost interest after finding out how much time needs to be spent on setting it up...

 :P
