I really get the vibe that this game isn't going to feel terribly different from the first Indiana Jones pin.

There are plenty of games that look different, but once you've spent time on them, they feel the same.  This is especially true of games with very similar themes - especially really familiar themes.  The objectives can all be different, but if it feels the same, there's not much that can be done.

Has anyone played the original Indiana Jones pin?  I know it worth a lot, but is it any fun to play?

Why did they use Harrison Ford's circa 1985 picture for the header?!?

It's a decent game but also a decent example of an overpriced Williams DMD game.  There is no way it is a better game than Shadow but it costs substantially more because of the theme.  It is also not better than Judge Dredd or Demolition Man, both much less expensive than IJ.

Yes, played it a couple of weeks ago, not too bad but it resetted a lot, so I lost interest and went on to the next of the 50 pinball machines I was walking through............and all on free-play :D  :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

The machine covers all 4 movies, not just IJ4, and I bet they figured Harisson looked "better" then ?

Is that a "stinking pile of soccer/footbol"?   Lawn bowling is more enjoyable to watch.   No wonder there are so many thugs rioting all the time...the game sucks so bad the rebels need SOMETHING to do for Christ sake!

There's one at a nearby arcade.  I think it's great!  My #2 behind Black Knight 2000.

I'm glad they _are_ still making pinballs and I am glad that every arcade or place with videogames has at least one or two pins overhere. Sure, it's not like it used to be, but they are still earning money.

I must say I didn't care much for WOF, but that's because I hate the theme. I love LOTR. Great theme AND great pin. Family guy, I like the pin, I know nothing about the theme, never saw the show.

POTC: Played one recently and I hated it when I hit the ship because almost every time the ball would go out without me being able to do anything about it. The tilt was way too sharp on this one, so I couldn't give it a budge to change the direction when it was released, immediately tilted.

I live 5 minutes from where the New England Revolution play... they won the MLS championship this year as well as the national open championship.  They played in the MLS final both of the two years before that.  Clearly among the very best if not the best soccer team in the US.  If you ask around here, within 15 minutes' drive of their stadium, it would probably take 5 tries before you found someone who knows any of that.  It isn't even in the local papers nevermind the regional papers.

That's pretty much the state of soccer in the US.

I'm going to be in Vegas next week at a vending show and supposedly the new Indiana Jones pin will be there in a Stern booth. I'm hoping it is there and playable. Can't wait to visit the Pinball Hall of Fame too!

Dude, you are out of your mind.

Ive played all of those and more.  In fact, I used to have a  Judge Dread and  Demo at the arcade that
I was managing.   They stunk,  in both theme, and play.

Indy is more than a  Theme game.  Its a great playing game.   One of the better ones.  So much so,
that after some extensive play, I decided to drop a boatload of cash on one.

A big factor in the game is if they are working correctly.   As you cant make it up both
ramps if the flippers are not in good shape.    If they are,  then the game has a very smooth flow to it.

Yet this new Indy looks to be a  'Stop and Shot',  rather than a nice smooth fast and flowing Pin.

It looks Nothing like the original layout,  and will play Nothing like it.   Just because it may sound like
it, will not save it.    You can see clearly how they Still have not hired a real artist yet.. and use crappy
photoshop work on the game.   Its look generically awful.

Ive heard the sound system on the new sterns too.   They are pretty sad.   Nothing as clear
and crisp as on the Indy.  Weather its hardware related.. , poor speakers, or by choice by using low
quality samples... it doesnt even compare.

And dont even get me started on their flippers.   POS mechanisms that usually loose their power
when used consistently from overheating.   They also feel like kids toys.   Cheap and clunky feeling.

Indy has 12 Modes to complete.  I cant imagine the day when I can finish all the modes in one
session of play.   3 of which are video modes, and are quite cool.    6 Ball multiball if you can get it.
Its Mini-controllable tilt 'Path of Adventure'  is just awesome.  (unlike LOTRs cop-out mini field
which has no playability at all)

Of course, there are those who like stop-n-shots  such as Twilight Zone.  Personally, I cant stands those
yawn fests.   That just my opinion...  but there are plenty who share that opinion.

Im just about willing to bet that after they release these,  they will start to lose their value in a
year or so.   Where as Williams Indys will continue to stay the same or climb in value.
 (like all  Sterns -vs- Williams)

So sad to see this great title destroyed by such a craptastic company.

Williams... Please come back to pinball!
  :'(
