Hi I got a great deal on some pc games off ebay and I was wondering if my ati 9250 arcadevga2 will run them or not.

so I am wondering if anyone has played them with a ATI 9250 and what was the results for you.

the games are:

Scarface
company of heroes
battlestations
resident evil 4
onimusha 3
blitzkreig with expansions

I'm running:
OS XP pro sp2
CPU amd athlon 64 3400+ barton
RAM 512mb ddr ram arcadevga2
Sound External sound blaster

1) Look at the requirement specs on the box(s).

2) Give them a go and judge for your self. You not going to do any harm in trying.

there not here yet otherwise I would just throw them in a try them so I figured I would ask in case anyone had problems and if so I will order a different agp so I can play them when they get here if the arcadevga2 cannot handle them.

  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
Judging from your system specs and the graphics card you have listed, those are going to run like total crap without being set at EXTREMELY low settings, both quality and resolution.  9250 Radeons are just too old for modern games.  Hope this helps.

that's what I was wondering if it was good to go as is or if I would need a card with more power.

what would be a good card to use I dont need the most expensive top of the line one but the one with the most bang for the buck that can play most game's and is affordable.

I think your best bet is an ATI x1650 pro which is available as an agp card on newegg for $60-$90 or the GeForce 7600GS for $85-$100.

you'll probably also want to upgrade to a gig of ram which you can get another 512 mb stick for under $25.
