JPAC, TNT2, Soft15kHz & 19" Arcade Monitor
« on: February 29, 2008, 05:51:44 pm »
I have a standard arcade cabinet with standard arcade monitor and it runs a std Jamma game (SF2') without issue.

I tried the Soft15kHz but i cannot get it to display the single image, just the dbl-screen that JPAC uses protect the monitor from higher frequencies. i have tried this with an old Riva TNT2 and a GeForce MX2 400.

I have also tried using the QuickRes utility to change the resolution to all the possible combinations (16bit) by the same issue, two copies of the same image on the screen. If i remove the jumper from the 30kHz option then i do not get sync at all.  :banghead:

Any help out there?

You've verified that Soft 15KHz has installed correctly?

What resolutions have you tried?

Seems to be installed ok.

The ones i was trying were around 321x240, some higher, some lower, but all with the same result. If i tried the 32bit res's i could not sync at all.

If it's showing a double image then it's not outputting @ 15KHz.  Not sure why.

Which driver version are you using?

If you really got an TNT2 running it most likely is outdated.
It should be at least 66.93 ( http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_66.93.html )
This is most likely the only driver that will support TNT2 AND fully support custom resolutions.
I do all that stuff even without a Joystick ;)
