Arcade Game Themed Pinballs?
« on: February 29, 2008, 11:30:52 am »
I would like to get a pin for the gameroom at some point and think I would enjoy one that has a theme taken from a classic arcade game.  Well, at least if the gameplay is decent.  I know there is a Space Invaders, Pac Man, Joust, and Defender pinball...Any others out there?

Street Fighter II, Super Mario Bros are the two DMD's that come to mind immediately.

Stay away from SFII.  Total turd.

Joust is very very rare and pricey.

Mr and Ms Pac Man and SMB are mediocre at best... tried to hard to add console game features.

I have never played SI.  There is also a Spy Hunter I have not played.

SI is much like the video game.

Boring.

Played it for the first time in my life a couple of days ago.

Nice to have pin for the theme but that's just it.

I guess I'm just not "into" any pins before the DM one's.....too slow....

This is also something that interests me, an arcade themed pin.  I almost had a chance to play a Spy Hunter, but lost out, and I have always wondered about Super Mario...too bad to hear that it isn't all that great.  Maybe for someone like me (doesn't know much about pins) it would be ok?

But, for sure, Mr. and Mrs. Pac-man is fairly boring IMO, kind of fits into that era of pinballs.

I don't care for the artwork on the Pac Man pin at all.  Reminds me of how the characters were drawn on the cartoon they came out with, which I hated.

I love the artwork on the SI though.  I wonder if I would like playing it.  Seems like some people do like it according to reviews.

Q*berts Quest.

Kind of a boring game but really cool looking cabinet and playfield.  The sounds are sweet too.

Yeah, if building a Mame cab between two pushes of the flipper buttons is your cup-a-tea, this is your pin.....but that's all just MHO of course :)

Maybe we should suggest Stern could create an 80's ARCADE-themed pin.....

Lots of toys with videogames etc. Maybe even a little Berzerk cab inside ? ;) Make a nice Centipede ramp etc. etc.

Would be fun, because _some_ pinball lovers still hate videogames. So this is also why it will never happen.....

Still a fun idea with lots of possibilities....
