Street Fighter to Multicade (cab restoration)
« on: February 26, 2008, 12:47:16 pm »
An old Street Fighter ($100) I converted to a 48-in-one multicade.  Switching the monitor to vertical.  This cabinet was beat up.

All the metal needed to be stripped.  This was alot more work than initially planned.

The cabinet was in bad shape.  Needed to Bondo the corners and apply new laminate.   Also installed new corner protectors.

Nice job.  I see you put corner brackets on the bottom of the cab, too.

The control panel took forever - but I'm quite pleased with the finished product.

Yes - I put corner protector on the front and back ends.  I liked the look better  ;D

Nice job.  Did you fill any of the existing holes in the CP or just cover in plexi and drill new?

I still have the original boards.  Email me if interested.

The holes in the CP were completely filled.  I started by welding a plate to the back and filled the holes with bondo from the front.  I did have to drill one new hole.  I was surprised how nice it turned out.

It is always awesome to stand back and admire your work. As my grandpa use to say, money spent is money earned, time and effort seem to apply just as much.

Great work!
