your input on this monitor needed
« on: February 15, 2008, 06:01:13 pm »
hello all,

I am building a mame cabinet and thinking about this LCD monitor.. I have read all the differences between LCD, CRT and TV screens but, I mostly play the newer games, and this size is appealing.. please let me know if this monitor is a good or bad choice.... does anyone know if the fact that it is widescreen matter?

see more details at http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2430647&Tab=11&NoMapp=

Thanks,       ;D

That's a widescreen monitor which means it doesn't have the 4:3 aspect ratio that almost all arcade games had.  When running a horizontal games you will either have a stretched image or you will need to have black bars on each side.  (won't matter for vertical games since you would have black bars anyway I guess)
