My CP, (I feel left out...)
« on: May 19, 2003, 04:02:03 pm »
This is the 5th control panel I have created on as many cabs.  It features 2 levels, custom artwork, 3" trackball, homemade harddrive spinner, fighting controls, 4-way balltop and 4-way firing joystick.  It started off plain but then some idiot posted a picture of the cp with background art and I was forced to do the same. ("God I hate you guys!" ala eric cartman)  This is what have been keeping me from finishing Arcade Jukebox 8.

That's a much cleaner approach to the all-in-one control panel... at least it has seperation... 2 questions...

 1) How approachable is the lower level? Is it as easy to play on as the top?

 2) Does the lower level get in the way of the upper level when playing?

Looks great Mark. Is this the cabinet you were working on when I picked up the Neo Geo cabinet? If so the control panel has gone through some neat design changes. I like it alot.

Eric,

Both levels are very playable.  Everything on the bottom level is below the top level.  Nothing gets bumped.  It all feel very natural.

No.  That cabinet was sold.  This is a new one built from scratch.  This one is a keeper.  I struggled with a bunch of cp designs but this one works perfectly.  Plenty of room for Golden Tee on the trackball and none of the controls interfere with each other.

Have you finished converting that NeoGeo cab yet? I would love to see some final pics.

Great IDEA!

I was just mentioning to someone else about getting some joysticks in the way of others.  Good solution!

(I still like hotswappables... mainly because you can add more and more.... gets to be an addiction!)

Actually it works great.  I put one thumb on each side spin like crazy.
