Bespoke Cocktail with Rotational Joysticks
« on: February 05, 2008, 06:06:22 pm »
This cab is totally finished now. PC installed with MAME and Maximus. On the vertical sides I have used rotational joysticks - this mean that for games like Ikari Warriors, twisting the joystick handle moves the gun from left to right.

  Good work, love the design, very clean.  Have you though about cutting the glass so it matches the shape of the top?

Wow that looks great.  Quick question, how does Maximus Arcade handle the horizontal to vertical switching?  I know that it supports both layouts, but is there a quick way to switch between them without manually changing the settings?

Looks awesome mate

I really must crack on with mine!

Im intrested to know what rotarys they are too, are they LS-30's? If so, I didnt think they performed very well for non rotary games, will they be ok for all of the vertical 4-way games etc?

Hi Chaps,

Thanks for the positive comments.

I set the orientation for each game in in Mame32. Maximus then picks up these settings and displays the games as configured. In terms of the orientation of the menu, I leave that in the horizontal.

The rotational josticks are Happs -

and I used the Ultimarc controller:

Imo, they work really well. The trackball is Happs as well and connects to a Dell P4 PC via USB.
