Race Drivin Gas Pedal
« on: February 04, 2008, 10:59:08 pm »
I've got a Race Drivin stand up cabinet.  For the most part it works fine.   The gas pedal sometimes works and sometimes not.  I've done the calibration / setups.  That sometimes makes a difference.  I can rarely get the gas pedal to work when you put in your name for the high scores.  It also never holds any of the high scores when shut off. (maybe that's how it was designed)

Does anyone know if there is any other adjustments to the gas pedal?  Or anything that can be cleaned?  The brake pedal is a bit soft, but it seems to work.   Otherwise it's a good working machine.

I'd appreciate any help.

Could be:

Pot gear is loose.  Needs adjusting and tightening.

Gears are stripped - needs new gears

Pot needs replacing - they do go bad after a while.  you need
to make sure you get the correct type.  Cant recall if its linear or audio taper..
or something like that.

CPU battery forgetting your settings.   Needs new microchip that has a fresh battery
inside it.

The settings thing is very common.   I know a guy that got a replacement chip.  But I
dont know all the details.  You may wish to post on the arcade newsgroups for the
best answers.
