2 players 4 butons Mini pacman
« on: February 01, 2008, 05:58:20 pm »
Inspired on the famous minimame.com i build my own mini PAC man for 2 players and 4 butons each, the reason i did only 4 butons is because computer its a p3 1000 MHz with 256 ram , so some of the cps2 games don't run very well, plus i did a vertical screen set up so classic games like PAC man or galaga will have full screen display ,
anyway I'm not very good explaining how i did everything so here are a bunch of pictures...

here's the start, cut the cheap cheap wood in my own room
sides are 2 by 4 feet so its pretty small  but a nice size for kids

ass soon ass i got everything in place i mounted the computer guts and the monitor
and  guess what , it work

decided to mount computer guts in the top , instead of inside the box like everyone
Why? Don't know, just thought it was cool

bought this sheet of plastic ware, really don't know what the name in English is and i glued the thing to the wood, that way i don't have to worry about paint or vinyl artwork

installed some leads for lights at top

here's how it looks the whole thing with controllers and all

bought some chrome t molding at a local wood store

and it looks nice, too bad they didn't have the orange t molding

looks nice for me

i printed a marque from localarcade.com thanks to the creator of the marquee for the good work

and here's me and the finished cab...
not bad...

Pictures look crappy Cu's i took them with my wife cellphone
so there was no flash...

Any comments or ideas are very appreciated.

Nice work!  How tall is that thing?

The plastic stuff is called laminate - how did you get it to bond to the wood after you assembled it?  Did you cut it to size and then glue it on or did you oversize it and trim it back after applying it?

I love the mini cabs!

Nice cab! Still, do yourself a favor and get a bigger monitor. Maybe some bezel art? Still, I love those scale versions
Wish list: Galaga, Pacman, Pooyan, Star Wars cockpit, Gauntlet, Tron

And the Lord spake, saying, 'First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three.

the size is 2 by 4 feet so i used a half sheet  for the sides, on the laminate i cutted  the laminate sheet , glued the thing with a bottle of glue on spray, then trimmed the rest, laminate was 3mm  thick.

Because of the size of the cab, a bigger monitor its not an option for me, i did the vertical set up cus i designed the thing for older games mostly, pc man galaga ans so on, bezel art , maybe i will, thanks for watching...
