imho why spend 20 dollars on a sticker when you can buy a blank coin door for 30. only 10 dollars more.

blank doors may not be as exciting but at least its real.

You call that a humble opinion?

Some people are terrified to cut a hole for a coin door and quite a few people expressed an interest in this product before he even released it. If anything, Randy is supplying where there was a demand.

I want to get a bunch of them and start sticking them all over the place.  On my car, my front door, the mailbox. the fridge... just to see if people start trying to stick quarters in.

im not doubting that randy is making money off of it. because im sure he is. if he wasnt it wouldnt still be there. i just think there is a huge amount people out there that think they have to spend 60-100 bucks on a coin door or nothing when the blank door is also a option for 30. why spend 20 on a sticker when you can get a real door for 30. im sorry but if you bought a used arcade it already likely has the hole and if you built it yourself then you had the guts to cut the whole thing except the door? ok. if you want a sticker thats fine. randys got you covered. but the real thing isnt much more.

I carry both ultimarc & happ items, all brand new & I ship from the united states. My online store is ARCADEEMULATOR.NET, pm if I can help in anyway.

I printed my own coin door for PocketGalaga (so it's 1/6 scale), but still  :P

I'm surpised in the difference in prices for coin doors. Some are only $30 and others almost $100.

 :laugh2:  HAHA! Ouch.. meh

I looked at it and it isnt a bad deal, if you dont need the highest level of realism, just a good illusion of it.

Personally, I was thinking of making my "coin door" using plaster or some other mould-able setting material, and then paint it with silver paint. (Basically, make a positive using hard foam, then a negative mould of that, then pour plaster/etc into the mould) Hmm, maybe just make a positive out of foam, and spray that, as long as it wasnt abused, hard foam might even work itself...

I went down to the local arcade and stole one off a machine.  I was also going to steal all the quarters, but didn't think that would have been ethical  >:D

By chance, have you touched up any Twilight Zone pinball machines lately?  The guys at rec.games.pinball are groaning at this auction (look at the flipper closeup just over halfway down):

Solderguy1, thats sad.. The one place on the machine that you pay most attention to, and it looks like they just took some cheap paint and a brush and "fixed" where the flippers had worn paint off...

Good point about the real thing not being much more.... by any chance did you price the shipping on the happ door? That'll probably almost double it in cost.

Back in the day, when I was new, I would've bought one of these. The front of my cab had no coin door, budgets were tight and the front was rotted wood. So, I covered it with wood for a while. I would've put a sticker on.

I guess what I'm saying is, I've seen the evolution of why this product came to be. A few people wanted it, and Randy made it. More products is good for us as a community.

Different strokes for different folks
