Hitachi GMK-29FS3 Resolution Switching
« on: January 31, 2008, 06:52:19 pm »
A friend of mine has a Hitachi GMK-29FS3.  Looks to be a fairly common monitor in Neo candy cabs (which is what this is in).  Looks to be switchable medium/standard res, currently set to standard.  Want to confirm the procedure.

Looks like just moving the one connector is all that is implied, but without a manual I wanted to ask those who know more about monitors than I. Unfortunately, most of the labeling is in Japanese (and abbreviations, too), and I don't have a wiring diagram.

As a warning, the "Large" images are very large.  "Small" images are ~150kB for legibility.

should simply be a matter of changing the plug ( with power OFF ) and supplying the proper drive signals for the higher setting.  no PHD required   ;)

Just making sure that nobody sees anything else.  I know some monitors have a couple different plugs that have to get moved.  I'll get that swapped over, and we can play Blitz in medium res (yes, Blitz on a candy...).  Thanks!
