Pentranic model #1135 monitor
« on: January 29, 2008, 06:45:38 pm »
Hello all, I have a Pentranic model#1135 monitor with a manufacture date of 4-16-96. I have not capped it yet. It has a horizontal line across the center of the tube. I believe it is a 33 inch monitor. Any help pointing me in the right direction will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

sounds like failure of the vert output stage ...

look for domed caps , burnt components,  etc..

seeing a print would be helpful

Yes could be vertical output transistor, most likely... But could be Vcc for the vertical which is supplied by the flyback.

It is rectified by D304, look for 18 volts at L401/C402.

If you need a schematic, visit my website and go to the standard res CRT monitor. It is a generic schematic for the same board that I use.

Hope this helps, but feel free to contact me direct phone or e-mail below.

By the way we can also offer you a quote to repair the board.

Good Luck

Wow thanks for all the help so far. I wanted to put some pics on. I might take you up on that repair. Hope the pics come out ok.The shots of the tag didn't turn out very good but it says: MODEL # 1135
                                                                                                                SERIAL #11310
                                                                                                                DATE MANUFACTURED: 4-16-96
                                                                                                                                INPUT VOLTAGE - 110-260 VAC
                                                                                                                                  MAXIMUM WATTAGE - 130W

if the schematic here  ( www.niemandisplays.com/nvd%20ch-288%20cga%20only.pdf  ) matches ,
check R336, d401, d399, ic3, c393,c398  and for kicks, d407/c961

r336 and d401 (and t401) comprise the 25-30v source for the vert output .
note : failure of c393 will produce vert foldover.
