Hiya fellow gamers,
I run a small design agency specializing in materials for the video game industry. Specifically: packaging, advertising, brochures, logo design, marketing items, instruction manuals, CD labels, etc. See o-sd.com for details.
I am starting a new business, publishing official strategy guides for games, called DoubleJump Publishing, Inc. See djpub.com for details on that one (web site is still a work in progress). This new business will leave little time for my old business, but I've still got lots of work coming in, so it's time to hire someone. What I'd like to do is find someone who loves video games, knows a lot about video games, and has at least as much design/layout talent as myself. Take a look at the work displayed on o-sd.com. If you're as good as me or better, I'd like to hear from you. I am not looking for authors for the strategy guide business. There is no shortage of authors, so please don't email me looking for that kind of work.
Applicants must possess high a level of talent in page layout/design. Intimate knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and QuarkXPress is required. Adobe InDesign skills are a plus but not critical. Illustration skills are also a plus. Ability to meet tight deadlines is necessary. Must be willing to do what it takes to get the work done on time. I want to be able to give you a project and have you produce something awesome with as little design help from me as possible.
This is a work at home position. Must have own equipment and a fast internet connection, like DSL or cablemodem. Work will be on a freelance basis and be paid as work for hire. Amount of pay will depend on the size of each project. Applicant must generate invoices for work completed and a 1099 will be issued at the end of the year.
If you think you're qualified, please send samples of your work to tim@o-sd.com (no huge attachments, please!) I don't care too much about your past work experience, as long as you've got lots of talent, pride in yourself and your work, and you're old enough and you're legal to work in the US.
Thanks,
Tim
