Neighbor's new TV
« on: January 28, 2008, 04:05:54 pm »
I had to help my neighbor pickup a new 73" TV.  Boy were we glad it was able to fit in my truck.  The last pic is a comparison shot.  My Neighbor is 6'.  He will eventually be building his own custom entertainment center for the TV and components.

Can't wait for the Superbowl.

All I can say is if he is rich enough to buy that TV, he could at least spring for professional delivery as CYA against dropping it or getting in a wreck. :dizzy:

My sister's husband bought a plasma TV for the Wii the kids were getting at Christmas.  He bought it two weeks before Christmas but they weren't going to be able to deliver it until after Christmas.  He was tempted to drive it home himself, but for the same reasons you mentioned he figured it was better to wait.

If tk_42_1 friend bought the TV for the super bowl, waiting for them to deliver it a week after the game isn't an option.

Lol that's huge. Looks like they sell that set on Amazon for $2415. Shipping weight 124 pounds, heh.

It's a Mitsubishi WD-73833 : 73" 1080p DLP.  They ended up getting it at Best Buy for a little more than what you seen on Amazon since they didn't want to wait and plus they seem to be the type of people who don't like to deal with the Internet in case there is any problems with it.

Those pix don't do it justice.  This thing is huge.  The first thing out of my wife's mouth when she saw it was "NO! You are stuck with that 50' monstrosity at our house."

I picked up a Samsung 61" 1080p DLP set this past weekend. I still can't get over how great the picture is. I looked at the 73" Mitsubishi. It is huge!

Yeah.  TVs these days are simply stunning in comparison to what I had growing up.  I'm happy as all hell with my 42" 1080p LCD TV.  Soooooooooooo much better than the tiny 21" CRT TV I have upstairs that only has composite in puts and RF inputs!
