My cabinet

well, its a work in progress..but it's coming along nicely

http://bitstream.dyn.dhs.org/~aod/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=mame&id=AUT_4314

today I wired the control panel

http://bitstream.dyn.dhs.org/~aod/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=mame&id=AUT_4317

its painted gloss black. The room its in is my 2nd bedroom. The thing is so big we had to assemble it inside because it would not have fit thru the doorway. we didnt think of this at first, but wound up having to paint it inside. That was a pain in the ass. But i've gotten numerous comments on how good it looks. I cant' wait till it's finished.

todo
1. T-molding(i have it, just need the router bit)
2. marquee, I'm getting it printed out soon
3. TV. need to hitup the pawn shops
4. some sort of graphics on the control panel, right now theres black poster board, with plexi glass overlayed. It doesn't look *that* bad, but I'd like something on it.

Few questions. I bought a coin door offa ebay. Can someone tell me what wires I use to wire it to the ipac?
Also, on the ipac there is a s7 and s8 for each controller, what are people using those for? Are they easily remapped to say the esc ~ and tab keys within mame?

You should be able to wire from the switch that is thrown when a coin makes it through the coin mechanism (was your coind door complete?) to whatever connection you have set on the ipac for numbers 5 and say.. 6... (EDIT which corresponds to terminals COIN 1 and COIN2 surprising enough -- assuming you leave ipac at MAME jumper setting and not alt)

you can map them to whatever you want (either in MAME or via winipac software)

I'll see if I can find a more specific answer re: the ipac but hopefully that gives you the idea...

good luck with your cabinet... looks like it's coming along nicely
