How do I edit controls.ini so that LED WIZ lights correct buttons?

I would expect that LEDWiz uses both the ROM and CLONEOF values to locate the game in controls.ini - but Loadman will have to answer that. Testing Hyper Sports won't really prove anything because I tested with a different plugin.

You should be able to add values to controls.ini, but I'm not sure why it would be necessary. LEDBlinky looks for the game in controls.ini and then if it's not found it looks at mame.xml (which has all the games). I would expect that the LEDWiz plugin does the same.

Yes, You assume correctly.
Is the path to controls ini set properly in MaLa? Try removing the link and re-setting it?

Ok guys, I checked both controls.ini and mame.xml for Hyper Sports and they both show only 3 buttons for the controls. The MALA layout shows 4 buttons and LEDWIZ lights 4 buttons. What am I missing that could be causing this to happen? Is there some other file that sways the buttons layout and that would override the lights for LED wiz?
This is not a show stopper in any way, its just anoying that I cant easily edit an incorrect controls to show properly.

Does Hyper Sports have a master rom?

Well, the mame.xml says that Hyper Sports is a clone of Track and Field. My track and field rom works fine and shows 3 buttons, so I just dont understand were Hyper Sports is picking up this fourth button and why.
