CP artwork, Help me get this right, pretty please!
« on: January 20, 2008, 06:58:24 pm »
I am as far as art for the controle panel, which I hope to have ready next week.
The thing is I'm not happy with my work so far. I'm too familiar with the whole sorry thing and hoped someone out their in BYOAC land could help me sort it out.

OK I like the silhouetted game characters and the big space monster, I'm not sure about the background and the whole thing looks dull or something.

It's vector btw and can be changed easily. Easily if I had any clue what to do that is.

The button marks will not be printed, their just to help place the art so it doesn't get cut up too badly when it's in place.

ditch the rising sun background.  Have you considered adding lettering?  Also, the big monster in the middle is kind of strugglin' as well.  Don't be discouraged, you have a nice piece of artwork.. just needs a new background a few minor changes.

Agreed about getting rid of the rising sun. Maybe bring the big guy into focus and im not sure on what background you should shoot for. I really like the direction its going.

I agree I like the direction of the artwork but that background is all wrong. What are you trying to get across from your artwork. You should choose your colours based upon your cabs theme. Once you have the colour scheme in mind the background will come together.

What am I going for? When I started I had a sort of happy silhouetted game guys dancing in front of a cityscape with a spacey monster just looming in the background. That idea went this far...

The marque I'm happy with, it suits the yellow, orange and brown colour schema. Maby I better do a project log, I was hoping to have an actual finished cab for that but it's close enough now to start one I guess.

Wow now that top one I really like. You should mirror the large space invader so there is one on both sides. In the very back add a fleet of spaceinvaders attacking the city about 50% opacity on it. Its a very similar idea for a space invader table top piece of artwork im pitching to a customer. I would make the marquee match the background on the CP for continuitys sake though.
