Mame emulation on Daphne Games
« on: January 11, 2008, 05:05:49 pm »
Thought I would give a shout out and let everyone know that I just finished reading another thread concerning the possibilities of mame emulating the current release of daphne games.  From what I understood, the time frame will be soon.

I would be interested in seeing how the games run in mame compared to the daphne emulator.  Has anyone else obtained this knowledge recently and or have any updates and or opinions?

I think adding daphne emulation to mame would make mame the ultimate, ultimate emulator.  Not that it isn't already, hence the "ultimate, ultimate" phrase...

LaserDisc emulation has been in mame since last summer.  In addition to most of the games daphne supports, it also has support for the american laser games, like mad dog mcree. It won't do anyone any good though.  First off it'll use a totally different set of video rips, video rips that could be as much as 5 times the size of the daphne rips.  Secondly, said rips have to be done by the mame devs and they don't appear to be in any hurry to make them anytime soon.  As I said, most of the laserdisc games have basically been emulated since summer, we are just waiting on video files and/or a tool to make them outselves.
