I didn't read the other thread, but doesn't a "free stuff" site that asks for referrals sort of make it a conga line? I'd say it's actually even a pyramid scheme. Sure, the first few people get their stuff, but the last (which is where the biggest group is) don't get anything.
not it doesnt require referrals at all. its an option, but you can do all the offers yourself. i cant talk about this though because chadtower will have a hernia if i do and ill get this thread booted. pm me if you actually want to know. pm chad if you want to talk to a
Let's see how many more posts it takes before poor old saint has to lock this one.
While I can appreciate the fact that you were trying to be helpful, those offers (regardless of if you do them or get someone else to) are a super hassle. Many of them often require you to purchase something you don't want and/or they automatically subscribe you to something you'll have to pay for after 30 days. If you cancel too soon then you don't get credit for the offer, while if you cancel too late you end up paying for the first month. So with that being said, I think everyone took offense to you insisting that they were free when in actuality you are paying for them, maybe not the full value in cash, but certainly the full value in effort. You might not feel that way, but I get the feeling that everyone else did and argueing the point only leads to useless conversation and the thread getting locked.
So I suggest this solution. Why not simply post the deal and details about the deal in a thread, don't post opinionated comments like "IT"S FREE REALLY" or opinions as to how cool it is and then have saint lock it? Then if people are interested they can look into it and if not there won't be 30 replies as to how it's such a bad idea for someone to try and be helpful.
(I get the feeling that saint is bored after all that "family time" from last month.
)
agreed....most of these "deal" come with a catch, and you end up paying a fee or getting subscribed to something. the only reason i posted this one (because most of them require you to call your grandmother 4 times and then send in 2 rebates while standing on your head....and then wait a month for your prize to come in) was because this one is actually free, and requires very little hassle.
the REASON i posted this because its different than ones you are used to. i knew that people would still be skeptical, so i included this link as proof
http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=614889 . that is basically a guideline/chart made up by people who are actually doing the deals to show you what to do. they give you the numbers to call to cancel, when you have to cancel, and when it's too late to cancel. EVERYTHING is layed out for you which is why i posted it because this never happens with other stuff that usually involves the grandmother example or its a scam.
seriously though, 10 minutes to get credit for my offers, 2 minutes to cancel the offers after 5 days, and two day shipping on my game. to me thats unheard of, and i thought others would want in on it......through my referral or not. thats all i was trying to do. honestly.
i got all up tight and defensive about it because people were calling me (more or less) a spammer, and that i was starting a conga line, and chad was on his period....so that all kinda pissed me off. just got ticked because i was legitimately trying to inform others.
