How do you guys power up & down your home made jamma machines.
divemaster127:
MY board arrived & its powered by a computer molex, so I will either be using a jumper on a atx power supply or seeing if I can hunt up a old at power supply, ideas?

RayB:
I have one of "those" boards, and I have yet to hook it up yet, but my understanding is that you have a CHOICE or power with either PC atx power supply OR through normal switcher through the JAMMA connection.
divemaster127:
Can you please explain what normal switcher means I have not fired up my board & I am new to jamma

CheffoJeffo:
You can run a normal arcade switching power supply
and connect the DC power outputs to the JAMMA harness
That will power your board nicely.

For me the decision between arcade switcher and PC supply would lie in what I had on hand and, if I was going to run a new harness, whether I might want to change out the game in the future (in which case I would wire the power through the harness).

I have a new $50.00 atx, a new $15.00 arcade power supply, I'm running a new harness in a new build so arcade power supply looks to be the way to go. CheffoJeffo thanks for the help this is my first run at jamma before this all builds have been mame.
