I was looking for some guidance.  I am building my first jamma based system, its a cocktail with a "special jamma board".  The board is arriving today & will have several games this is for my wife.  My question is I have built mame machines using the bitstrip, & motherboard to power the machine on/off.  How do you guys setup the power on/off with a jamma not sure how to do it since a motherboard is not involved where I can hack into the wiring.

2nd question I assume their are pinout instructions in the wiki for jamma I have never wired one before.
thanks for everyone's help

Sounds to me like you are basically building an "arcade" machine.
Simplest and best tutorial I know of: http://www.therealbobroberts.net/acwiring.html

Basically the JAMMA board is power from the switching power supply, the monitors power comes off the isolation transformer and the AC for both is interrupted by a single switch.

EDIT: forgot to add a JAMMA pinout link.

This board i am receiving is powerd by a computer atx power supply, if that helps

Kevin Mullins:
Ah.... one of "those".

Same principal though.
Just a matter of tapping one leg of the AC supply and take it to a switch.
Exactly how you do it depends on what else you have in the cab already.

yah its one of  "those", I just starting to mount everything, I am going with a lcd this time so i think the machine should turn out pretty good
