Cruisin usa, world and exotica board question
« on: January 06, 2008, 10:28:30 am »
Does anyone know if i can take a cruisin usa board and swap the roms out for say world or exotica? Or if i had any of the boards can they just be swapped to get the differant games. Basically all im asking is. Are all the cruisin game boards the same board just with differant roms?

No. Exotica uses a special chip that the rest do not have.

Is that chip replaceable or is it soldered to the board? Also, if world and usa does not have this chip can i convert those boards?

You can swap complete CPU boards, the wiring and steering boards are the same (the steering boards may look different due to revisions, but are interchangeable).

The boards contain a security chip to prevent people from just burning a set of roms to upgrade the game.  This chip cannot be "duplicated" or burned.    The cheapest and easiest way to swap between games in one cab is to buy a working board for whichever game you want.

I thought Exotica had the zeus chip and could not be faked and is needed.
