Vector on TV

Anyone have a link showing a vector game on a TV display?  There seems to be differing opinions on vector quality on television monitors.  I'm still getting a TV, but I want to know what to expect when I boot up Asteroids..

I think the general consensus has been that the vectors are too dim and sort of blocky looking, but couldn't comment personally.

Just squint real hard or something ::).. seriously, there may be some visual effects/corrections (gamma) in the various MAME builds that would help this, but you may have to 'trial and error' the best solution.

  You're not going to be very happy with vectors on a TV. Especially Asteriods, since its just black and white, the scan lines stand out too much.

Wow, Radiator, a sincere Thank You for your time.  I think it'll be totally usable.  For vector games, ya can't get too picky, as long as everything else looks pretty good.  That's the beauty of the hobby, folks.  Make it the way YOU want it, so that YOU'RE satisfied with it. (and have fun in the process!)  !  I assume S-video was used...any display utilities?  

Also, does anyone know if a (TV) digital comb filter helps with Mame?

yeah, svideo through my radeon 7500...running MAME with hwstretch (640x480), no scanlines, and no effect...

I might be in the minority but I find vector games look just fine on a SVideo connection.....no they're not razor sharp but who cares.

The only time I have a problem is playing Lunar Lander (A game I really enjoy)....your ship is a little blob in the "far away" starting off part.  

Those pics, btw, came out a little blurry...my asteroids doesn't look as blurry as the screenshots, but its tough to get good shots with a digicam...

yeah, tell me about it!

i took around 30mins taking those, and the ones posted were the best of the bunch.
it does look better actually standing in front of the screen, the pics were really just to give a rough idea...
