Well, I pulled up my tracking information at Airborne Express this afternoon shortly after coming home from work, and to my suprise, the package from X-Gaming had arrived at 10:17 am...  and was left on my door.

OH MY GOD.  I live in an apartment complex.  No, no...  "left on doorstep" must be a generic term for "left at apt. complex office".  I went to the office, and NO: They had not been delivered there.  I got mad.

I called AbEX and they said that it had probably been mis-delivered.  I doubted that, and started searching my complex for that little box.

I decided to do some dumpster diving, because I knew that some dipshite probably stole the box from my door, and upon opening it, threw it away cause it's just junk to the untrained eye...

And that's where I found my 20 buttons and 2 joysticks... in a rain-flooded dumpster at 2:30pm.

Anybody else have any "<delivery company name> is a moron" stories?

(I just hope the microswitches work... i'm sure they will, although there was some water in the joystick bags.)

not as bad as that, but a while ago, when i ordered my buttons from happ (UK), i timed it so they'd arrive on my day off work...well...they didn't, and after tracking the order on line it said something like 'Building closed - carded'...yeah, what card, i didn't get one!
they must've gone to the wrong address (completely wrong, sounds like the went to a shop/store that was closed as they tried to deliver just after 5:00pm...how you can mixed up between a shop and my place i have no idea (i live at a place called Lapwing Farm....does that sound like a shop to you!?!?)

anywho, they turned up the next day about 5 mins before i set off to work...

Maybe I'm just unscrupulous, but it would serve them right.  I'd have claimed I never got them so Happ would have to send more out.  Happ would have been reimbursed by Airborne, I think, since everything the send has a paper trail.

I don't indend on having to climb into a dumpster for anything I order and if I do I want some compensation damn it  ;)

That's why I get everything delivered to my workplace - there's always some idiot in the building who wants a "free" package.  Though I do get some weird looks from the co-workers when I try to explain what some of this stuff is/does:

"It's a top-fire assembly for my 8-way super joystick which I connect to this keyboard encoder here and here, which in turn...."  then they usually just nod and back away slowly... ;)

Billyjack, Thats dedication!  I can picture you in your stinky complex dumpster searching for game parts, LOL.  At least you had the sense to look there.  That wouldn't have crossed my mind.  Well done

By the way, does anyone know if the X-gaming spare buttons / sticks kits come with any paper or mounting bolts (stickwise) inside?  I got everything for the buttons, and happ's exploded diagram showed me installation procedure for the x-gaming sticks, but mounting bolts, etc?

BTW Thanks moose!

Frostillicus: I think deliveries to work is probably the best idea from here on out... at least until I move into a real house.  It kind of makes me want to install a "deliveries go in here" box with a key (that's bolted to the ground/wall) kinda like a big mail deposit box for my packages.   But then I'd probably have jerks flooding the box with a hose...

WERE YOU PLANNING ON WATERING THE MAIL!??

My x arcade sticks and buttons came in a plain box with no other pieces.  No instructions (who needs them?) and no bolts for joysticks (not expected).

Ok good, thanks BobA.  I didn't expect / need any of it either, but I was just making sure I dug around enough in the trash for all my stuff.  I'd hate to have to jump back in the dumpster for more trash...

btw i found a good working RCA 19" TV in the dumpster yesterday too.... God I love move-out time in a college town.

Reminds me of the time FEDEX left a $450 Mobo, CPU & Fan combo on my back stairs in the middle of a rainstorm.

What I love is finding packages marked 'signature required' on my porch, when I clearly never signed anything.

It may just be coincidence, but I've had MUCH better luck with UPS deliveries than FedEX or Airborne.  They seem much more competent and much more often on-time, etc.

I havent had any major problems. The only thing that bugs me is that all my packages get delivered at about 10pm. Always, and it never fails. I guess the ups people have to work till the truck is empty...

So 10pm rolls around, I here the door bell ring about 50 times in less then a second and about the same amount of knocks(most be a world record in there somewhere), I get to the door I to see a box left on my porch and a bit of smoke coming from the doorbell and no sign of anyone around...

I avoided this thread cause it had the word Shizza in it. I was bored tonight. I hate this new slang the youngsters use these days.. ;)

No one says Shizza unless they're in some sort of WB televesion ghettoized sitcom written by 40 year old white people.... or 14 year old white kids who think that the people in said sitcoms are some sort of platonic ideal.

UPS around me puts them between your glass front door thing and your frontdoor. I leave a note to put it in a rubbermaid I keep in my bushs when something is getting delivered. It has never failed me!

I never took it as a "ghettotized" word. Maybe it's not spelled correctly but that's how you say a certain other word in German...

(if you catch my drift)

Yes, yes. Ghettoized german indeed. In fact, I'm pretty sure Snoop Dogg is german as well :)
