Gauntlet Legends CPU Specs for MAME to run smoothly?
« on: December 30, 2007, 10:10:40 pm »
Hi,

I was wondering what system specs are necessary for Gauntlet Legends to run smoothly in MAME.  I currently have an AMD 64 X2 4000+ (2.10 GHz) and it runs SUPER SLOW.

Also, while I am on the subject of games running slow, some of my 3D games' audio stutters which slows it down considerably.  (I know MAME is mainly CPU based, yada yada yada).  I have Zinc to solve the problems of the Tekken games, but saw the same pattern of the stuttering audio in many newer games.  One in particular, Gradius 4.

I turned down my bitrate from 48000 to 24000 in MAME.  Still does not help.  Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

A Core 2 Duo overclocked at 4ghz will barely run it with Mame .120u1:

If you skip on down in the thread, you will see that 64 bit Mame running (obviously) under a 64 bit operating system does substantially better.

The Dreamcast version of Gauntlet Legends seems to run well under nulldc:
